"Run for Travis"

We have a friend who had been battling brain tumors for six years and just recently returned to our Father in Heaven. He's just about the same age as I am and has 4 kids. I still get emotional whenever I think about it. My heart just aches for his family.

Before he had passed, some amazing people had organized a run to help earn money to pay for hospital bills and also because he hadn't been able to work for a few months. In the end, he ended up passing about a week before the run.

So many people came out for it. It was such a beautiful thing to see so many people come together with love and charity in their hearts so excited to do anything possible to help their family.

Sadie and I did the 1 mile "Fun Run" (walk:)
There was a photographer taking pictures and you can see Sadie and I to the left :)

Everyone else was going to do the 5K. Then Emma saw some friends and decided to do the "Fun Run" with them. But Eli and Holly did the 5K! I'm still so proud of them. Eli's going to do Cross Country next year so it was a chance for him to try out a longer distance. Here they are finishing!

I think he's seen Dana finish too many marathons! Haha:)

Dana had finished long before them and the photographer caught this awesome shot:) He had a great time, but I'm not exactly sure what it was, so maybe I'll add it later.

After the race I saw Dana and his former EQ Presidency chatting.
The event was a huge success earning their family about $53,000!

There were friends everywhere we looked, so many wonderful, amazing people, that it actually reminded me a little of what Heaven must be like.
And I bet Travis was there partaking of that love too.

"Baby Bear"

Back in March (the 6th to be exact), Sadie and the rest of the 1st grade put on their musical they've been working on:
"Three of a Kind".

I much prefer the daytime shows where the rest of the school gets to come watch the performance. It's a lot easier to get a good view. And I get to see my other kiddos:)
You can see Holly very blurry off toward the back trying to get Sadie's attention. (I love these third graders:)

It was extra exciting because Sadie got chosen to be "Baby Bear" who was pretty much the main character. The show featured famous trios like: "The Three Little Pigs", "The Three Musketeers", "The Three Bears" (from Goldilocks), etc. and throughout the story they're looking for baby bear who is lost. So Sadie got to sing all the songs throughout the show, and then at the end she had to go high-tail it behind some fake plants on stage.
Right about now...

Very inconspicuous ;)

After she was found at the end, she got to say into the microphone, "Of course it is, who else could it be? I've been right here in the stump of this tree!"

Then she got to stand out in front for the last song.

I think getting chosen had a lot to do with her size but she was pretty darn excited about it! There should be some perks for being such a peanut right?

She's had such a great 1st grade year. I can't believe it's already winding down!
