Here at the "K" home (in case you haven't noticed my blog URL) we've been running out as well. Well mostly "M" was. That's M for mom not M for Emma. She does lose her own perspective sometimes too, but she's 9 and I'm- well getting becoming more and more seasoned in my 30's. Sure I can blame PMS, but that excuse doesn't hold a lot of water (actually maybe it does) even with me. I know it's a real thing, I just don't like being a victim of it. Anyway, I've been snappy lately. And kinda yo-yo-ish. Like snappy and then regroup and then snappy again. My kids may be wondering at times which mom they will be talking to and I don't like that.
That's when I came across Nie Nie's blog- post plane crash and working everyday to try and recover. I didn't know the old Nie Nie but heard the story along with everyone after the tragedy happened. I don't know the new Nie Nie either, but she is inspiring. Still full of faith, still grateful, trying not to ask "why me?". That's when I got a bucketful of perspective right in the face. I shed a few tears. Prayed for her, thanked Heavenly Father for my countless blessings, and went out back and enjoyed my kids.
Now for the hard part- holding on TIGHT.

She's beginning to repeat everything I say and I just LOVE the babytalk phase. I love it. I've heard that you're supposed to correct them after they say something wrong like "nana" you say "That's right 'banana' ". I always end up having the opposite happen. I reinforce the way they say it until they begin to correct me. Sometimes I still ask my kids to say things the way they used to say them because I just love remembering the way their little voices sounded. Maybe that's weird- I'm not sure. It's one of my mommy loves.
