Springy Spring

After Spring Break I feel as new and rejuvenated as all our backyard plants. Citrus blossoms are opening, peaches growing, garden sprouting up. Our weather is amazing right now and all the plants are eager to show their gratitude. I show mine by breathing deeply and smiling up at the sunshine. I LOVE this time of year. I'm certainly not alone. We've been paying attention to license plates this year and have been amazed by how many say things like: Minnesota, Illinois, and Alberta. Lots of people get annoyed at the snowbirds but you definitely can't blame them.

Here are some things that have been keeping us busy:

Holly's 1st grade musical-
Can't you just feel all that 7 yr old excitement? "Over in the meadow, in the sand in the sun..."

Sadie had a lesson in church on being a missionary and brought home a mini playdough container that said "I can be molded into a missionary now". So of course she wanted to "mold" a missionary right away.
Sadie's had some fun preschool activities :)
She loved taking care of her grass and watching it grow.
We started off spring break with a dentist app't. Eli had to get 2 cavities filled (we have a great dentist so it wasn't traumatic). They told him he could only eat something soft so I thought it's be fun for the kids to stop at Jamba Juice on the way home. Here he is, trying to drink his smoothie:
We were dying of laughter:) Luckily he thought it was pretty funny too and was laughing with us:
haha- that still makes me laugh. On 3 of our days off Emma and Jane decided to have a little Spring Camp. Jane thought of it, so she really gets the credit. Each day had a theme. The first day was "Super-hero Day". In case you're wondering, Holly is "fashion-girl". Look out, that stole doubles as a magic lasso.
Next day was "Storybook Day". All the kids brought their favorite book. Then the last day was "Water Day" which is always a big hit.
Saturday we decided to use our Groupon and go to "Desert Botanical Gardens". We went there once before like 3 years ago and the kids never forgot about how much they loved the butterfly room. It was fun to go back with Dana this time.
And the butterfly part of it didn't disappoint.
In case you want to go- white is the best color to wear they said.



There is a lot of desert beauty there.
It's basically just plants but the kids got super excited to see these ground squirrels.
Dana liked looking at all the types of plants that grow well here and got some new ideas and things he could plant.


We also got our new computer over the weekend. It's nothing super awesome by today's standards, but by the standards 7 years ago when we bought our old computer- it is SO AWESOME and we are loving it! Happy Spring to you!
